Tsubaki is the aggressive spirit of Orihime's Shun Shun Rikka and the only one capable of launching direct attacks. He's quick to throw hands with anyone who annoys him—Orihime included—which has made him a liability more than once. His offense-heavy fighting style leaves him exposed to counterattacks, and he's taken serious damage because of it.
His strength scales with Orihime's own anger and killing intent, but here's the catch: her naturally timid personality caps out his potential. This fundamental mismatch has actually contributed to some of his worst injuries.
The turning point came when the Espada Yammy Riyalgo completely obliterated him, crushing him into pieces so small that Orihime couldn't gather them to reverse the damage. She was devastated. Things seemed hopeless until Hachi revealed that Orihime's abilities operated on similar principles to his own, which opened up a path forward. Despite having literally nothing to work with—no physical pieces at all—Hachi was able to restore Tsubaki completely.
