Sagan is a shinobi from Iwagakure. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, he was assigned to the Fourth Division and managed to survive Madara Uchiha's devastating assault on the battlefield—no small feat given how many of his comrades didn't make it. He tracked down Ōnoki to report that the Tsuchikage was still alive, though badly wounded.
Things only got worse from there. Sagan watched helplessly as Madara and Mū pulled themselves back together and continued tearing through the already-depleted division. When the five Kage finally showed up and went to war with each other on the field, Sagan couldn't help but feel completely outmatched just watching it happen. Later he was part of the pursuit of Mū alongside Dodai and the Hokage Guard Platoon.
