Sang Sang was discovered by Ning Que buried beneath a pile of corpses years ago. What started as a master-servant relationship has evolved into something much deeper—the two are genuinely close, functioning more like family. Whether there's romantic feeling between them remains ambiguous, though fans frequently speculate.
Her discovery came with a price. Buried under the dead for so long, she absorbed what practitioners call "coldness"—essentially the accumulated negative energy or miasma from the corpses. The result is that she's perpetually cold, a condition that apparently doesn't respond to normal warmth. Ning Que has noted that only two things help: intense physical activity and hard liquor.
Sang Sang carries an umbrella with unusual properties. It's capable of deflecting both magical attacks and conventional weapons like firebombs—genuinely versatile for combat.
