Lt. Percy Bacharach of the Chicago Police Department has basically made it his life's work to put Bean Bandit behind bars. Bean runs a courier business that sounds legitimate enough until you realize it involves high-speed chases through the city that keep totaling police cruisers. Bacharach's obsession with nailing him intensified after the Grimwood kidnapping case, where Bean and Rally Vincent got framed as the perpetrators. That's when Bacharach finally got his hands on a weapon he'd been dreaming about: a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra 500, built to go toe-to-toe with Bean's souped-up Ford RS-200—the car everyone calls "The Buff." That same Mustang had belonged to Rally in the Gunsmith Cats storyline before Bacharach got ahold of it, giving him a real fighting chance to catch his white whale.
