Suya is the princess of the human kingdom, and she was kidnapped by the Demon King to serve as a hostage. She was supposed to spend her captivity waiting around for heroes to show up and rescue her. Except that's not really what happened.
Instead, she leaned into her situation pretty hard. Within days of arriving at the Demon Castle, she started quietly liberating anything useful she could find—tools, materials, whatever would make her life more comfortable. The demons weren't thrilled about it. At first she was mostly just looking out for herself, but the longer she stuck around, the more she actually started caring about the place and its people. She even got genuinely interested in the diplomatic mess between the human and demon kingdoms.
People tend to assume she's younger than she actually is, partly because of her height, but she's definitely an adult. Back home she was constantly busy with royal duties and barely got a break. These days she's pretty lazy when left to her own devices—but when it comes to actual work, she's meticulous, efficient, and gets things done. She's also surprisingly handy; various things around the castle she's built or repaired herself.
