Tanishi is a young villager from the Genjutsu Tree Village whose life gets turned upside down when Kandachi, a rogue ninja from Amegakure, invades and seizes control of the settlement. In the attack, Tanishi's father Sukune is killed—a loss that hits him hard. At first, Tanishi is understandably terrified, but meeting Naruto becomes a turning point. Naruto's determination and belief in him help shake Tanishi out of his fear and pull him into the effort to reclaim their village.
During the confrontation with Kandachi, Tanishi steps up and plays his part, evacuating villagers to safety while the fighting happens. When Kandachi is finally defeated, the village mourns Sukune, who died protecting them. But something shifts in Tanishi after that. Before Naruto showed up, he'd struggled with confidence and self-doubt. Once he sees what they accomplished together—what he helped accomplish—that changes. He starts to believe in himself.
