Hibiki is a second-year student at Private Aria Academy's junior high, in class A. She's got tons of energy and natural athletic ability—she helps out with basically every sports club at school. Her grades, though? Not great. Her parents are both musicians, which you'd think would rub off on her, but Hibiki's convinced she has zero musical talent despite actually having perfect pitch. She used to play piano as a kid but quit after bombing a performance and feeling like she'd disappointed her dad. These days she's more interested in demolishing the cakes from Kanade's family bakery.
Everything changed when she and Kanade encountered Siren and somehow became immune to her attack. That awakening unlocked Hibiki's potential as a Pretty Cure. She transforms into Cure Melody using her musical score, her brown-orange hair shifting to light pink and stretching out into extra-long twin-tails. Her color scheme is all shades of pink, and her Fairy Tone is Dory. She fights with the Miracle Belltier, powered by the Fairy Tone Miry.
Her standard transformation call is "Playing the wild tune, Cure Melody!" In the movie, she gained access to Crescendo Mode through the Crescendo Tone, and later in the TV series (episode 47) she and the other three members all become Crescendo Pretty Cures. When transformed into Crescendo form, she introduces herself as "Playing the heart's tune, Crescendo Cure Melody!"
