Sugiura Ayano serves as the student council's vice president. She's got that whole principled, justice-minded thing going on, and it makes her pretty popular with the other girls. The thing is, she's basically always thinking about Toshino Kyouko—and yeah, she's got it bad. She's not great at admitting her feelings out loud, but she's constantly finding ways to spend time with Kyouko and learn more about her. As the series goes on, they grow closer, though Kyouko remains completely oblivious while still genuinely enjoying their time together.
Her best friend Chitose Ikeda is fully aware of the situation and actively helps engineer opportunities for them to be together whenever possible. Despite Chitose's tsundere tendencies, she's surprisingly supportive and genuinely invested in helping things work out. On a lighter note, Ayano's got a talent for puns that reliably crack up Yui Funami every single time.
