Yurui was a shinobi from Kumogakure who got caught up in the Fourth Shinobi World War. He led a unit in the Third Division until he and his team ran into Ameyuri Ringo, who hit him hard with her Lightning Release: Thunder Gate technique. The injuries were too much—he didn't make it, dying in front of his teammates Omoi and Nurui. With his last breath, he passed everything on to Nurui.
