Yamu shows up at the World Tournament alongside Spopovich, the two of them working as a team under orders from Babidi, an evil wizard who needs their help. Their actual job is pretty straightforward—collect energy from the tournament fighters so Babidi can use it to resurrect Majin Buu. They pull it off, but things go south fast once they've finished. Babidi kills Spopovich right in front of Yamu, and when Yamu panics and tries to bail, Pui Pui—one of Babidi's top enforcers—tracks him down and kills him before he can escape.
