Morgiana comes from the Fanalis tribe—fierce warriors descended from the red lions of Alma Torran. She's named after the character from the Arabian Nights, the clever slave who served Alibaba in the classic tale.
Her actual backstory is pretty rough. She spent years enslaved to Jamil, a guy obsessed with becoming king who kept her in line through abuse and fear. That kind of treatment made her shut down emotionally—she learned early on that showing feeling was dangerous. Everything changed when Goltas, another of Jamil's slaves, convinced her she didn't have to live that way anymore. She bolted from the dungeon and headed home to the Dark Continent to find her own people, and along the way with Alibaba and Aladdin, she actually started being herself for the first time.
Despite looking like any ordinary girl, she's physically ridiculous. Her leg strength is so absurd she can literally run up vertical walls. She's also got a dog-like sense of smell—sharp enough to catch the scent of death from deep pits or track people hiding out of sight. Her arms aren't quite as powerful as her legs, but they're still strong enough to send someone like Alibaba flying across a room.
After leaving Qishan, she took Goltas's words to heart and set out for her hometown of Katarg. Along the way to Balbadd, she helped Leila and Sahsa's caravan deal with thieves at a rock quarry, then reunited with Aladdin before catching back up with Alibaba.
Her name literally means "coral" in Arabic.
