Kurumi is a third-year bassoon player and section leader at Kitauji High School, though she trades her instrument for pompoms whenever the band marches in parades. She's notably the tallest female member of the band—actually among the tallest overall. You'll usually spot her hanging out with Mikino Oka, the other third-year bassoonist, and they're pretty much inseparable.
Most of the time Kurumi comes across as serious or just blank-faced, but she completely lights up during parade performances, grinning the whole time. It's one of her more memorable moments since her role in the anime is pretty minimal. She showed up to the section leader meeting in episode 4 but didn't really contribute anything, and later gets a quick background line in episode 7, but that's about it for her screen time.
