Segawa Izumi serves as her class's chairman. She's the younger of a set of fraternal twins—her brother is Kotetsu Segawa.
Hayate saved her from a dog attack when they were kids, retrieving a doll the dog had stolen. She kissed him on the lips as thanks, which made her father uneasy. By the time they both ended up at Hakuō Academy, neither brought it up again; their childhood memories of each other had faded enough that the incident basically stayed buried between them.
In season 4, Yukiji starts running a joke where she calls Izumi and her two friends Risa and Miki the "Three Idiots."
