Not much is known about his actual background, though there are hints he might have ties to the Celestial Masters Sect. He grew up as the adopted son of Li Siyuan, the young master of Tongwen Hall. After secretly running away, he ended up meeting Lu Linxuan—and things escalated from there. He was eventually ordered to kidnap Li Xingyun, but the job went south. Instead of following through, he chose to rescue Lu Linxuan instead, and the two fell for each other in the process.
