Alister (called Amelda in Japan) is one of the main antagonists of the Waking the Dragons arc in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. He's voiced by Yukinara Iemura in Japanese and Ted Lewis in English. Unlike most characters from this story arc, Alister has no manga counterpart—he's anime-only.
His English name is a reference to Aleister Crowley, the occultist who designed the Unicursal Hexagram, which inspired the Seal of Orichalcos symbol. It's a pretty obscure connection, which probably helped it get past the censors without anyone catching on.
Alister constantly bickers with Valon about whose dueling opponent is stronger. He also manages to acquire over half of Seto Kaiba's company at some point, though exactly where his funding came from—whether it was Pegasus's money or resources from the Paradius corporation—remains unclear.
