Adam Frankenstein, known simply as Adam, is the first autonomous humanoid supercomputer built for law enforcement by Europole. Dr. Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin Shelley created him, and his initial deployment was to arrest Paul Verlaine.
What sets Adam apart is his unusual perspective on detective work. He's convinced that human irrationality makes them fundamentally unsuited for investigations, and his dream is to establish a law enforcement organization run entirely by machines. He's expressed frustration with airport metal detectors, which he clearly despises—an odd gripe for an AI, but there you have it. On the lighter side, he has a taste for acorns and grass seeds.
His name draws from Frankenstein's monster, which gets compared to Adam from the Bible, particularly the creature's own lament: "I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel." It's a fitting reference given the whole creation-and-identity thing going on.
