Clair serves as captain of the runological corps under Aquaria XXVII—commonly called the Holy Mother—and commands the Aquarian army's position near Arias. She's been friends with Nel for years, and the two of them make up what's known as the Crimson Blade, a duo famous across the region for handling Aquaria's most difficult and morally ambiguous assignments. They're the ones who do the work nobody else wants to do.
