Aya
Aya works as a detective who specializes in monsters and supernatural cases. She's apparently the only immortal being around, having lived for 962 years—though that kind of longevity comes with its own complications. After getting attacked and having her body stolen, she ends up needing help to track it down across Europe. Since she can't really get around on her own anymore, her maid Shizuku Hasei carries her in a bird cage wherever they go, which is about as awkward as it sounds.
To actually get the job done, Aya makes a deal with a guy named Tsugaru Shinuchi: she'll extend his lifespan in exchange for his help hunting down her missing body. It's a pretty straightforward arrangement, even if the circumstances are anything but normal.
