Ripine grew up surrounded by books and probably would've become a scholar or writer if swordplay hadn't pulled her in a different direction. She still writes occasionally—it's more of a side thing now, squeezed in between her constant training with her brother Riheet. These days the sword takes priority.
The discrimination dark elves face, both then and now, has left deep scars. She doesn't trust humans easily, and she carries cold, lasting grudges against those who've wronged her people. Her mother was murdered during the attempted genocide of the moon elves, forcing her and Riheet to flee for their lives. That trauma became the foundation for everything that followed: a shared oath with her brother to end their people's suffering, gain real power, and pursue vengeance.
What started as two survivors became a movement. People who shared their vision joined them, and over time Ripine and Riheet founded Black Edge, one of the continent of Orvelia's most formidable mercenary groups. Their ambitions have grown far beyond survival. Black Edge's goal is nothing less than taking control of the country itself. Peace in Orvelia is finished—those responsible for persecuting her people will face despair.
