Adrian Randolph Crump III—or Shuuzou Ootaki in the Japanese version—is one of the Big Five and a former KaibaCorp accountant who served as the company's chief financial officer, handling finances (or human resources in the Japanese version).
Growing up as an only child, Crump didn't get much attention from his parents, who worked constantly and, in the Japanese version, fought regularly. He filled that lonely time by counting things obsessively, which eventually became a genuine passion for numbers. A book about penguin parenting sparked an even stranger fascination: he became obsessed with penguins and started dreaming up his ultimate goal—a penguin-themed amusement park that would somehow merge his two loves: numbers and penguins.
