An Outsider minstrel traveling with Custas, a boy he's raising. Dagda's best known for being fiercely protective—he gave up his life as a musician to become a mercenary just to support the kid, and fans often note how he'll grab people by the collar to make a point when things get intense. He's generally calm and thoughtful, but that protective instinct kicks in hard; he's even confronted the Knights Moralis directly, begging them to use magic to heal Custas.
Dagda found Custas living in a slum and adopted him, effectively saving the boy from the same rough existence he'd endured. He considers Custas his son and his only real family, though interestingly, Custas doesn't call him "father." Teaching the kid music is what Dagda considers his life's real achievement. He's constantly worried about him throughout the story.
The man himself seems pretty jaded about hardship—it's just what he knows. He's an experienced fighter who can hold his own against multiple opponents, and he's comfortable with violence in a way that suggests a long history of it.
Dagda grew up in the Muckpool slums at Ezrest, stealing to survive. After botching a robbery on a mummer's troupe and getting caught, an old woman taught him to play roundlute in exchange for a promise: help someone else from the Muckpool. That promise led him to taking Custas in. According to a birthday comic, Dagda sings Custas a lullaby every single night.
