Orihime's older brother. When Orihime was born, Sora was already fifteen—old enough to remember a childhood their parents made miserable for both of them. The moment he turned eighteen, he bailed, taking his kid sister with him. He basically raised her as his daughter rather than his sister, which is pretty much what she needed.
During her middle school years, Sora gave her some decorative hair pins as a gift. Orihime thought they were babyish and turned them down. It hit him harder than it probably should have. He went out to clear his head, got hit by a car, and died at the Kurosaki clinic—a loss that haunted Orihime for years afterward.
