Kelly's basically just unlucky enough to be around whenever the Transformers decide to cause chaos. She owns X-Brawn (in his disguised form), which alone puts her in the middle of plenty of action, but that's just the start of her problems. Side Burn won't leave her alone either—constantly chasing after her red sports cars, which only adds to the stress. She's tried taking vacations to get away from it all, but the Transformers have a habit of destroying those too.
Things got especially weird when she was in a tanker truck that Scourge scanned to create his alternate mode. In the process, her human bio-signature got absorbed into him, which gave him a creepy ability: he could use that signature to control Fortress Maximus. So yeah, even when she's not directly fighting anyone, Kelly's still somehow essential to Transformer problems.
