Inari is the son of Tsunami and grandson of Tazuna, living in Wave Country. He never knew his father, so he latched onto Kaiza as a father figure instead—Kaiza was close to both the kid and his mother until Gato had him executed. That's when everything changed for Inari. He became bitter and hopeless, even blaming Kaiza for dying and breaking his promise to protect the village.
Everything shifted when he met Naruto Uzumaki. Despite his own tragic past, Naruto refused to give up and genuinely cared about the people around him. Watching that kind of determination made Inari realize that willpower could overcome circumstance—that some things were worth any risk. He grabbed his crossbow, rallied the townspeople to stand against Gato's thugs, and even tried protecting his mother, nearly getting killed in the process. Naruto saved him, and together with Naruto and Kakashi, they managed to drive Gato's men out for good.
