Jirocho Wasabi leads the Wasabi clan in the Land of Tea, caught in an ongoing territorial dispute with their rivals, the Wagarashi clan. Unlike his counterpart Kiroku Wagarashi—who's known for being manipulative and underhanded—Jirocho comes across as genuinely decent and straightforward. He's an old acquaintance of Tsunade's, and once went out of his way to inform Senta and Bunzou that her debt to the Akagi family had been settled.
He also took Idate Morino under his wing after finding him homeless on the streets. Jirocho clearly believed in the kid; when Idate competed in a crucial race, he showed unwavering faith in him—so much so that he literally bet his own life on the outcome. That kind of conviction says a lot about the guy.
