Kimichika Haijima moves back to his hometown of Fukui after getting kicked out of a Tokyo junior high volleyball club for causing problems. There he reconnects with his childhood friend Yunii Kuroba, a naturally gifted athlete who crumbles under pressure. The two have great chemistry on the court—Haijima's raw talent and determination paired with Kuroba's physical abilities make them a formidable duo.
