The Universal Century's long history of colonization and warfare fades into memory as humanity moves forward into a new era. A period of unprecedented peace and prosperity emerges—the Regild Century. It's now R.C. 1014. An orbital elevator called the Capital Tower connects Earth to space, supplying the planet with power through Photon Batteries. The tower is treated almost like a god by those below. Bellri Zenam, a cadet in the Capital Guard tasked with protecting it, gets his first real combat experience when he's suddenly attacked by a mysterious, incredibly powerful mobile suit called the G-Self. Fighting back in a maintenance suit called a Recten, Bellri manages to capture it. But when he sees the pilot—a young space pirate named Aida Rayhunton—something clicks. And the G-Self itself troubles him; he's certain he's never encountered it before. So why does it respond to him as a pilot? There's Aida's plan to assault Capital Tower.
