Synopsis

Nai is a naive kid searching for someone called Karoku—his only leads are an old bracelet and a name. Things go south when a creepy woman captures him and decides to keep him as a pet, but he gets rescued by Gareki, a thief breaking into her house for a heist. Now both of them are fugitives, and they get pulled into the orbit of Circus, the country's most powerful defense agency. Circus's job is pretty straightforward: protect people from varuga (man-eating monsters) and take down a shadowy organization known as Kafka. They become interested in Nai after realizing his bracelet is actually an old Circus ID. Nai chooses to stick around, though Gareki's still trying to figure out where he fits in. As they dig deeper into finding Karoku, dangerous varuga keep appearing—and they all seem weirdly drawn to Nai.
