Synopsis

In an alternate 1960s, two superpowers dominate the globe after a brutal war: the Zirnitra Union and the United Kingdom of Arnack. They're locked in a bitter race to launch the first crewed spacecraft, and the Union has a dark secret—the Nosferatu Project. The idea is straightforward if twisted: use vampires as test subjects for spaceflight. Vampires are human-like but despised and feared, making them expendable in the eyes of those in charge. Lev Leps, a Union soldier and would-be cosmonaut, gets assigned to watch over a vampire named Irina Luminesk, designated N44, who's been selected for the program. He's supposed to stay detached and professional. It doesn't work out that way. As the pressure mounts and danger closes in, both of them have to figure out if they can actually make it to space—or if they'll survive the attempt.
