Ryouma Takebayashi dies in his sleep at 39, worn down by a lifetime of bad luck. Three merciful deities decide to give him a second shot—reincarnating him in a magical world with one simple goal: just live and be happy. As a parting gift, they grant him exceptional physical strength, the ability to learn every type of magic, and their ongoing protection. He's dumped into a forest as a kid and left to figure things out. Fast forward three years, and Ryouma's become something of a slime expert. He's discovered how to breed rare variants and built up a whole army of them while honing his magical skills. The forest life suits him fine—his cave is comfortable, and he's got his research to keep him busy. Still, he does get lonely sometimes. That changes when he stumbles across an injured traveler from a noble's household and heals them. They convince him to leave the forest and join their group, slimes and all. Once he steps back into civilization, people immediately start losing their minds over his magic prowess and his weird slime-taming abilities. It's a far cry from his quiet forest days, but in a good way.
