Synopsis

Wisteria is an orphan living in a remote corner of the British Empire during the late 1800s. Her existence is pretty grim until she meets Marbas, an immortal creature with an animal-like appearance who's just as isolated as she is—and constantly hunted because of what he is. The two of them end up traveling across the Empire together, searching for somewhere safe where they can actually live without having to hide or run. The world they move through is populated by both regular humans and various beast-like humanoid creatures.
