Synopsis

Koyomi Araragi's life gets turned upside down when he crosses paths with the vampire Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade during spring break of his third year, and he ends up becoming one himself. Now stuck in a world full of supernatural oddities, he literally catches his classmate Hitagi Senjougahara when she tumbles down the school stairs. Except there's a weird twist—turns out her weight was stolen by some kind of mythical crab. Despite Senjougahara's threatening demeanor, Araragi convinces her to let him help track down whoever or whatever's behind it. To deal with an abnormal problem, they need abnormal help, so they seek out Meme Oshino, a mysterious drifter who'd previously saved Araragi from his vampire curse. At its core, Bakemonogatari explores the monsters that exist inside all of us, and just how far down they go in the people Araragi encounters.
