Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii
Narumi Momose is an adorable young woman with a serious obsession—idols, games, anime, manga, and especially BL content. She's basically a closet otaku and proud fujoshi. After a messy breakup tied to her hobbies, she quits her job and starts fresh at a new company. Her secret doesn't stay secret for long. At work, three people know the real her: Hirotaka Nifuji, her blunt and gaming-obsessed childhood friend; Hanako Koyanagi, a strikingly mature and cool woman; and Tarou Kabakura, an unexpectedly attractive guy with a rough face who's constantly bickering with Hanako. One night over drinks, Hirotaka makes a simple suggestion: date someone who actually gets her hobbies. Narumi isn't convinced though. Otakus have a reputation for being. well, pretty off-putting. And realistically, the only people who'd understand her are other otakus. But can a relationship between two otakus actually work? Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii follows Narumi and Hirotaka as they start dating, exploring what happens when two people try to juggle work, romance, and their beloved hobbies without losing themselves in the process. It's a lighthearted look at how love and nerd culture can coexist.
