Synopsis

Daisuke Higashida is a serious first-year student at Higashizaka High School living a pretty mundane life. Sure, his family never laughs and exhausts him, but things are stable enough. That changes fast when his dad's company suddenly goes under. With no money coming in, Daisuke loses his allowance, can't pay his phone bill, and can't afford the commuter ticket to school anymore. His father tells him he needs to get a job, so Daisuke finds work at a nearby family restaurant—partly to make money, but also to avoid biking the 15 kilometers to school every day.
