Synopsis

Set in the thirteenth century during the height of the Mongol Empire, this story follows Fatima, a Persian physician who brings advanced medical knowledge to the Khan's palace. Ambitious and skilled, she catches the attention of Töregene, one of the Khan's wives and a politically shrewd woman troubled by the empire's future direction. As these two form an unlikely alliance, their influence grows far beyond the palace walls, eventually reshaping the course of world events.
