Synopsis

It's 1989 when Joseph Joestar shows up in Japan to check on his grandson Joutarou, who's been locking himself away in a jail cell. Joutarou thinks he's possessed by some kind of evil spirit and doesn't want to hurt anyone, so he's keeping his distance. Joseph sets him straight though—what he's actually dealing with is a Stand, basically a manifestation of your fighting spirit that takes physical form. Joseph and his friend Mohammed Avdol have their own Stands and know how to use them. But there's a bigger problem. An old enemy of the Joestar family has come back from the dead, and it's triggered Stands to awaken in the family. When Holly develops a Stand of her own, her body can't handle it. She gets seriously ill, which forces Joseph and the others to take action. So the group sets out on a journey across the globe with their Stands as weapons, heading toward Egypt where their enemy is hiding. Along the way they run into plenty of other Stand users—some hostile, some willing to help. The whole trip is basically a mission to save Holly and finally deal with this threat once and for all.
