Synopsis

During Japan's Sengoku period, a masterless swordsman named Nanashi rescues a young orphan boy called Kotarou at an old temple. Kotarou's being hunted by a shadowy military organization from China, so he brings Nanashi on as his bodyguard. Among the pursuers is Rarou, a skilled fighter with blonde hair and blue eyes who answers to an old man named Byakuran. Though he's part of the Chinese militia, Rarou isn't loyal to any emperor—he's just obsessed with testing himself against strong opponents.
