The Japan Air Self-Defense Force runs a classified program involving dragons—called Organic Transformed Flyers—that choose their own pilots. Nao Kaizaki grew up dreaming of becoming a Dragon Pilot, especially given her father's reputation in the program, but when she applies to her base, the OTF there rejects her. Meanwhile, Hisone Amakazu joins the JASDF hoping to find direction and overcome her habit of backing down when things get tough. She stumbles into a restricted hangar by accident and gets chosen by an OTF before she even knows what's happening. Now she has to step up and face her self-doubt head-on if she wants to actually become the pilot this dragon has selected her to be.
