Tiger Mask
Naoto Date, known in the ring as Tiger Mask, started out as a brutal heel wrestler tearing it up in America. But everything changed when he returned to Japan and met a kid at an orphanage—the same one where he'd grown up. The boy told him he wanted to be a villain just like Tiger Mask when he grew up. That hit different. Realizing he didn't want to be a bad influence, Tiger decided to turn his career around and become a hero instead. The real conflict comes from Tiger's Cave, a shady organization that recruited and trained young wrestlers to be heels. The catch? Members had to hand over half their earnings to the organization. Tiger had been part of it once, but he broke free and started giving his money to the orphanage instead. The organization's leader didn't take kindly to that betrayal and sent wave after wave of assassins—other wrestlers included—to take him down. While most of the story is purely fictional, the manga and anime did feature cameos from real wrestlers like Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba.
