In a distant future, humanity lives in massive domed cities scattered across Siberia—the only habitable places left after Earth's environmental collapse. But the planet is slowly recovering, and the domes are starting to break away from the authoritarian powers controlling them. Gainer Sanga is a video game prodigy celebrating his 200th straight victory when he gets arrested by the Siberian Railway and forced into an unexpected role. He ends up piloting a giant mecha that he names King Gainer after his gaming alias. As the city of Yapan attempts a desperate exodus across the Siberian wastelands, Gainer finds himself constantly challenged by other Overmen pilots in battles he never asked for.
