Synopsis

Taira Capeta was a fourth grader dealing with the loss of his mother—something that left him feeling lonely despite putting on a tough act for his father. One day, his dad brought home some scrap parts from work and built him a racing cart. When they took it to a circuit to test it out, Capeta quickly realized the frame was warped and wouldn't run straight. But he had the skill to compensate and actually managed to chase down another cart, nearly overtaking it. The driver ahead was Minamoto Naomi, the champion of the East Japan Junior Cart series. Naomi's mother, Nanako, saw the whole thing play out and encouraged Capeta to enter an official race.
