Synopsis

Yuuki Wakasa is your typical short-tempered fifth-grader—especially when dealing with her chaotic younger brothers—but her life changes overnight when a small red bead called a magatama falls from a dark sky straight into her hands. She's spooked enough to want to throw it away, but remembers that doing so would bring bad luck, so she holds onto it. That night, a mysterious woman appears to her in a magical mirror called the Shinjyukyou and delivers some heavy news. The woman explains that the world is in serious trouble. The weird, dark weather everyone's been experiencing? That's because Amaterasu, the sun goddess, has disappeared. Yuuki's been chosen as the "Horizon Girl," and she's got a job to do: travel into the dream world and track down four other magatama bearers—the Amatsukami. If she and the other bearers don't find Amaterasu and bring her back soon, the sun could vanish from both the spiritual world and the real one. For good.
