One night, the moon explodes into a crescent. A yellow tentacled alien takes credit for it and warns that Earth is next—in one year. There's a catch though: it demands to teach at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The government, desperate to keep the thing contained, agrees. Now Class 3-E has the job of their lives: kill their new teacher before time runs out. The problem is, these kids are already at rock bottom. They're the school's lowest-ranked class, treated like garbage by everyone else. Most of them don't even believe in themselves. Assassinating a monster that moves at Mach 20 and can apparently destroy celestial bodies? Yeah, that's not happening. Enter Koro-sensei—that's what the students call him. Despite being their assassination target, he's genuinely good at teaching. As he coaches them in both killing techniques and actual academics, something shifts. The class starts to believe in themselves. They begin to see what they're capable of. And maybe, just maybe, they've got a real shot at this impossible mission. Bonus: Volume 21 includes a one-shot called "Tokyo Department Store War Chronicles."
