Synopsis

During the brutal Bakumatsu period, Hitokiri Battosai was a notorious assassin—ruthless and feared. But when the Meiji Restoration brought peace and an end to the civil war, everything changed. He abandoned his old life and took a new name: Himura Kenshin. Now he wanders the countryside as a rurouni, fighting only when necessary to protect others. Of course, plenty of people aren't happy about his redemption. Old enemies from his past are determined to hunt him down and make him pay for who he used to be.
