It's the near future, and GunPla Battles—basically competitive tournaments where people fight custom-built Gundam models against each other—have blown up worldwide. This whole second wave of popularity is called the "Second GunPla Boom." Sei Iori is a middle schooler whose parents own a model shop, and he's genuinely good at building GunPla. The problem is he has no real experience actually fighting with them. Then he meets Reiji, this mysterious kid who's already a talented Gundam Fighter. The two team up and decide to go for the world championship title.
