Azumanga Daioh
Chiyo Mihama is a child prodigy who's skipped enough grades to land in high school way earlier than most kids her age. Her first day is a trip because her class is basically full of weirdos. There's Sakaki, this tall, intimidating girl who barely talks; Tomo, who's loud and obnoxious; Osaka, who seems spacey but is weirdly good at solving riddles; Yomi, who's obsessed with dieting and karaoke (despite being a terrible singer); and Kagura, a competitive tomboy who's always trying to one-up everyone. Despite their differences, the five of them gradually become close friends. The series just follows them messing around in their everyday lives—school, studying, taking summer trips, and getting into random shenanigans along the way.
