The 73rd class of cadets at the Defense University of Kibi is supposed to be doing a routine shakeup cruise on the brand new starship Amaterasu before graduation. But when they're heading home, they get word that the aggressive Kingdom has declared war on their planet. Things go downhill fast—Kibi's government just surrenders without a fight. So the cadets decide to take matters into their own hands and wage war from the Amaterasu instead. To fund their little rebellion, they strike a deal with a galactic news network. The catch? They become the stars of a reality show broadcast across the galaxy. It sounds ridiculous, but it's the kind of reality show where you can actually die.
