After years of brutal abuse from their father, siblings Utsutsu and Yume are finally on their own. Utsutsu does everything he can to keep his younger sister safe and cared for. Their fragile peace doesn't last long. Yume suddenly transforms into a grotesque monster and starts killing and eating people. She's been infected with a mysterious virus called Pupa. When Utsutsu witnesses what's happened to her, he realizes he's been infected too—though his case is different. The virus has only partially taken hold of him, giving him the ability to regenerate instead of turning him into a predator. Despite the horror of it all, Utsutsu is determined to protect his sister no matter what, even if it means sacrificing his own body to feed her. But protecting Yume turns out to be just the beginning of their problems. As they try to survive, they're forced to confront the dark truth behind the virus and everything it's brought into their lives.
