Amatsuyu "Jouro" Kisaragi seems like an all-around good guy—helpful, kind, the type people naturally gravitate toward. Problem is, he's pretty unremarkable otherwise. His best friend Taiyou, aka Sun-chan, has it all: he's the baseball team captain, charismatic as hell, and somehow always surrounded by girls who are into him. But Jouro's got a secret. He's actually a scheming manipulator working on an elaborate plan to get two girls to fall for him—his childhood friend and the student council president. Everything's going according to plan until both girls corner him with what he thinks are confessions. Instead of the ego boost he's expecting, he gets blindsided: they're not confessing to *him*—they're confessing that *they're* into Sun-chan, and they want Jouro to help them pursue him. To make matters worse, he discovers the next day that someone *is* actually interested in him: Sumireko Sanshokuin, a quiet girl who turns out to have an absolutely terrible personality and is hell-bent on sabotaging his plans.
