In this world, people are assigned levels, and most ordinary folks cap out somewhere between level 1 and 5. More importantly, your ability to hunt monsters isn't just about skill—it depends entirely on what role God blessed you with at birth. There are eight hunting roles: Warrior, Fighter, Cleric, Magician, Rogue, Merchant, Hunter, and Sorcerer. Then there are the truly exceptional people, split into three categories: Royalty, Heroes, and Sages. Everyone else? They farm, run shops, or just get by. The weakest role of all is Villager, and villagers are basically the backbone of civilization—they're the ones actually building and developing towns. For a villager to hunt monsters is basically suicide. They just don't have what it takes. But one day, a two-year-old kid assigned the Villager role figures something out: if you kill a monster, you get paid. Really paid.
